Our garments are engineered to support all women:
Engynir performance garments are the product of extensive trials and feedback from elite athletes, women rehabilitating an injury and women discovering movement for the first time.
Our approach to fashion design combines body science with styling to enhance a woman’s shape.
This understanding of the female form, combined with an innate knowledge of movement, allows our engineered garments to fit perfectly and appropriately for your lifestyle.
If you feel good, you look good. Our design philosophy is that good styling comes from the inside out. It’s that simple.
The Engynir performance range arose from the adage “necessity is the mother of invention”.
Designer and Pattern Engineer, Ruth Povall, sought out deep water running to rehabilitate a knee injury. There was just one problem … she couldn’t find anything to fit! When combined with her oft-repeated catchcry “… there’s no way known you’ll get me into a one-piece!”, it looked a bit like things would not get off the ground – or at least into the pool!
Not to be daunted, Ruth set about designing and engineering performance garments that not only fit the female form, but also enhance a woman’s shape, whilst at the same time being ‘fit for purpose’.
As a designer, Ruth is experienced in all aspects of bespoke fashion design from the lost art and science of block making, to advanced pattern engineering, through to couture finish.
Ruth’s studio is in the hinterland of Byron Bay, Australia.
